Governor Inslee Signs Order Allowing "Low Risk" Construction If Worksites Can Comply with 30 Point Safety Plan
Governor Inslee announced today and issued an order allowing “low risk” construction projects to reopen with safety rules to protect against COVID-19. The work will only be allowed if companies can comply with strict
safety protocol including physical distancing and other requirements. Employers will have to follow a 30-point plan to make sure construction sites are safe. The plan is the result of weeks of talks between Governor Inslee’s office and construction industry associations and construction unions. The plan includes requirements for construction projects to have a COVID-19 site supervisor, keeping workers 6 feet apart at all times, making sure contractors provide protective equipment like masks, gloves and goggles and other detailed requirements. Employers must also have policies addressing workers leaving the worksite and staying home if they feel sick, or if they’ve been in close contact with a confirmed COVID-19 case.
Below is documentation you should find helpful with your reopening plan and be healthy and safe in doing so. If you missed the webinar explaining all the pertinent information ON PHASE ONE you can watch the recording WATCH HERE
